Feb 18th

Installing a bathtub grab bars will create a safer environment, providing greater security against slipping when you walk inside, outside or inside of the shower. An early consideration is how to assemble the bar, which depends on its purpose. Fitting a vertical bar at the edge of bathtub is best suited to help get in and out of the bathtub. Mounting the horizontal bar in the bathtub offers better support while showering. A major concern is to make certain the grab bar is solidly anchored to install. Locate the wall studs near the proposed location for placing the brace, using a stud finder. Place a finishing nail to the wall and tap with a hammer to investigate and determine the ends and center of the beam.

Click on the tile where it ends. Make a light pencil mark at the midpoint of each stud and both the left and right edges. Go to a room or behind a shower cabinet in order to locate bolts when you have a stud sensor. Look nails on the motherboard or remove the socket and look uprights. Measure from the corner, using a tape measure, and transfer this measurement to the side of the shower wall. Hold a level against the shower wall, against manufacturer’s edge beam, in order to transfer the positions of the uprights on the tile. Applying masking tape to the surface of the tile indicating the uprights.
Place the bathtub grab bars for two of the three holes align with studs. Check each of the holes in the tile assembly support bar using a grease pencil. Drill holes 1/8 inch screws, using an electric drill. Use some glass and tile. Check the positions of the studs by drilling in the brands that are closer to the center of each foot. Make sure you hit the stud to drill at least two of the three holes. Adjust the location bar support and drill new holes if you happen to miss the stud by drilling. Drill in drilling with a glass tile 1/4-inch in order to enlarge the holes. Drill pilot holes in the beam, with a bit of wood 5/32. Insert the wall hole in the screw holes that missed the stud anchors. Seal the perimeter of the back of the mounting flanges handrail, using silicone caulk. Place the bathtub grab bars to the wall, drilling flat head screws No. 10 or No. 12 stainless steel at least 1 inch into the studs.
